Connect Instagram

Connect your Instagram professional account so OneChat answers your DMs — product questions, order status, sizing, all of it — while your brand keeps posting.

Prerequisites​

  • An Instagram professional account (Business or Creator; switch for free in the Instagram app under Settings → Account type).
  • A Facebook Page linked to that Instagram account, and admin access to it.

Steps​

  1. In the OneChat dashboard, open Channels → Instagram → Connect.
  2. Sign in with the Facebook account that administers the linked Page.
  3. Select the Instagram account and grant the messaging permission.
  4. In the Instagram app, make sure Settings → Privacy → Messages → Connected tools allows message access (Instagram enables this during authorization in most cases).
  5. DM your account from another Instagram account to test — the conversation appears in the OneChat dashboard.

Notes​

  • OneChat answers Direct Messages. Comments and story replies that Instagram delivers as DMs are answered too.
  • Replies come from your Instagram account, so the experience is seamless for customers.
  • When a conversation needs a human, it's escalated to Slack with full context.
